New Brunswick constable earns six awards at the World Police & Fire Games

August 9, 2022, Rotterdam, Netherlands –  From New Brunswick, the Saint John Police are proud to congratulate Constable James Smith on his recent success at the World Police & Fire Games held in Rotterdam, Netherlands July 22-31, 2022.

Constable Smith is a 10-year veteran of the Saint John Police currently serving with the Forensic Identification Unit.

During the Games, Constable Smith was awarded an impressive total of 6 medals:

Large bore rifle events:

  • Gold Medal (300m Team Competition – 4-man team Ireland/Canada)
  • Gold Medal (300m, 400m, 500m Team Competition – 4-man team Ireland /Canada)
  • Silver Medal (300m x 60 shots: High Masters level)
  • Silver Medal (300m, 400m, 500m x 45 shots: High Masters level)

Small bore rifle events:

  • Silver Medal (50m small bore – Team Competition – 3 position: 4-man team Canada/India)
  • Bronze Medal (50m small bore – Team Competition – prone: 4-man team Canada/India)

Constable Smith’s past accomplishments at the World Police & Fire Games have included:

  • Bronze Medal in large bore rifle in 2017 in Los Angeles, California
  • Gold Medal in small bore rifle in 2019 in Chengdu, China
